Sojourners
How will you live your life?
We are sojourners on this earth for a little while:
a brief time compared to eternity.
Dr. Eugene van Onselen was our family doctor, now in eternal peace with God. We look forward to our reunion in the Lord’s presence when our time on Earth is complete.
Heaven is free of hatred, injustice, inequality, sorrow, and suffering. Earthly cares are gone, along with the challenge of loving hateful and judgmental people.
A place is reserved in Heaven for all who believe in God with their hearts, acknowledge their sinfulness, surrender their lives to Him, and accept His eternal plan.
By relinquishing ownership of our lives to God, we allow Him to guide our thoughts and actions.
Dr. van Onselen’s lessons live on in all he touched, his influence evident in the lives they now create.
Sojourner, the most important lesson Dr. van Onselen taught me was this: wake up each day and do all you can for others.
Dr. King posed this philosophy as a question that deserves prayerful consideration. Answer thoughtfully, only if you truly believe it.
“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, What are you doing for others?”
We are sojourners for a short time.
Loving others is never out of style.
When it feels like life has no reason or rhyme.
In times when it feels like we are covered in grime, we go the extra mile for others and treat everyone as our sister or brother.
This is how Dr. King and Dr. van Onselen lived.
Let us do likewise.
